Physical Game Setup

Crisis Rises is an interactive tabletop game installation that transforms New York City's flood and zoning data into a collaborative exploration of climate resilience. Players, representing different city agencies, must negotiate, plan, and build seawalls before rising waters overtake the city, revealing the challenges of coordination, compromise, and survival in the face of crisis.

Designed for 4-8 players, the game blends physical components—board, cards, and tokens—with digital projections that react to gameplay in real time.

Crisis Rises reframes climate adaptation as a shared act of negotiation and imagination. Rather than presenting data as abstract or distant, the game invites players to inhabit the roles of decision-makers, confronting the emotional and ethical weight of urban crisis.
